WHAT IS ZINC
Zinc also known as Zn is an essential micro mineral that is present in organs, tissues, bones, fluids and cells in the human body. It is essential in the stimulation of enzyme activity, DNA synthesis, wound healing, a healthy immune system, for taste and smell senses and supports growth during all phases of life.
Zinc is found is most food supplies such as grains, cereals, beans, nuts, vegetables and red and white meat, however some sources have higher amounts such as oysters. HISTORY OF ZINC
In the time of Augustus (20 B.C. - 14 A.D.) before zinc was discovered in its metallic form, the Romans used its ores were used to make brass. Then in 1374, zinc was recognized in India and was used as a metal. In the 17th century, zinc manufacturing was moved to China. Then in Europe in 1545 it was recognized as a metal but it wasn’t until 1743, that the first European zinc smelter was established in the United Kingdom at Bristol.
